Miscellaneous

Here is Sarah on her first Valentine's day, and below, with her first valentine from Hadley Leonard.

My friend Jamie took these next two beautiful shots of Sarah, I love them. She will be 7 months old in a week.

Unlike our two older children as infants, Sarah hates all solid foods. Bananas, rice cereal, oatmeal...but oddly enough, she will eat mashed avocado. Weird, right? We'll try again in a couple weeks.
Grammy Buchanan came for a visit, and we had fun visiting the aquarium. We were really sad to see her go.
We also had a visit from cousin Kyler (2 months older than Sarah) and he and Sarah bonded over plastic food. Mmmm, gotta love that lead paint. She would flap her arms and breathe really fast whenever he crawled over; I think she loved having someone her own size around. What cuties.

My poor kids. Micah had influenza, but got over it in less than a week. Sarah also had it and is on the mend, but Eliza, in addition to influenza, developed a really severe ear infection and pneumonia in her lungs. Her doctor said she was a tough girl, since she hadn't even been complaining about her ear. This is the first time she has ever been on an antibiotic. She has been plastered to the couch for over a week now, but she perked up when Ashley brought her flowers.
Sarah's influenza gave her a really awful, congested cough, and her doctor recommended nebulizer breathing treatments for she and Liza. Eliza liked the fish mask, but Sarah hates it.
With his week of the flu, plus Sarah and Eliza's week, Micah has been a little stir crazy from being inside so long. I didn't realize how consumed I had been taking care of Eliza and Sarah until the other day when Micah said, "Mommy, don't stay away from me." Am I a jerk or what?! Anyway, having his favorite playmates out of commission has led to a lot of attention getting (throwing things, ramming his tricycle into the wall). This is his new, "What are you going to do about it?" face. I always have to turn away so he can't see me laugh. He's too adorable.

haha, I love Micah's face!! Ben told me your kids were sick, I'm so sorry! Poor kids, and poor mom. It's hard being cooped up in the house all the time.

Oh my Audrey, why didn't you call me? I could have helped out some how. I hate the pneumonia stuff. Lydia is the queen of vomit and now pneumonia too. I hope you are all feeling better. We would love to have a play date soon. Let me know if you need anything.

These are cute Audrey. I can't believe that Sarah is going to be 7months old, somehow that doesn't seem right! Love Micah's face, Chase does something similar to that. Taylor also has a card for Eliza that she made for her, we will hopefully get that to you today. That's the goal anyway. I hope everyone is feeling much better.

Sounds like life has been crazy for you all. The old saying, "When it rains, it pours." seems to apply here for sure. Hope all is looking up now. We should be making a trip to Utah sometime in July. We will definitely stop in. XOXO

Orange Milanos? I have seen those, but have not been brave enough to indulge when the yummy mints call my name. Oh yes. They call to me. ;) Anyway. We have to wake the kids up at 6:45 for scripture study. They go down at 7but usually don't go to sleep right away so morning time is not an issue. On the weekends when the whole routine goes out the window they usually wake up between 7:30 and 8. Glad the routine chart works for you too. We love ours and have been using it for years. It helps the kids prepare for what happens and gives them a healthy dose of independance.

You poor thing! I thought I had it bad with my 3 kids sick with coughs etc., but flu, pneumonia & ear infections?!! Wow. I love that Ashley brought Eliza flowers. That's sweet. Just know that you're supermom and not a jerk. You're doing your best, so give yourself more credit! Keep up the great work.
Oh, and we voted for Eliza today! What a babe!! :)

So sweet of Dad to bring Eliza flowers.

Magdalena has those same pink overalls! In fact, she's wearing them right now. We should get a picture with them together.
