Whenever I take Sarah with me on errands, I try to include something fun for her. So this morning we ducked into Petco so she could ooh and ahh over turles, cats, birds, whatever. On the spur of the moment, I decided to get her a $3 blue beta fish. "We already have a fishbowl at home," I reasoned.
When we picked Elle and Micah up from their playdate, they were thrilled to see the new pet (I know, we already had Frodo, we're done now). When I asked what we should name it, Eliza immediately piped up with, "Should we name it Blue Desire?"
I laughed so hard and for so long that my stomach cramped up. So our fishes to date:
Colonel Brandon (from Sense & Sensibility, the Emma Thompson version): lived 2 years
Cup (named by Eliza): lived 2.5 years
Blue Desire (it was Micah's turn to pick the name and I encouraged him to pick a different one all his own, but because I laughed so hard at Elle's suggestion, he thought it was great and chose it). Hopefully BD will make it to three years.

Oh that is too funny! We had 2 betas, and they finally bit the dust, one actually jumped out of it's bowl, that's how desperate it was to get out of our house!
Nice name. Where did she learn the word desire? So funny! Thanks for the offer with the ER visit. I'm sure another one will happen (let's hopefully at least make it a year). We close on the house May 5th. So we are hoping to move in the next weekend. May 9th. We'll let you know for sure.
