The Room Fairy
I got this idea from my friend Katie. Maybe it's silly, but for right now, it is working wonderfully. I told the kids that the "Room Fairy" came and visited Ash and I one night and said she'd be visiting Elle and Micah's room regularly from now on. If their room is clean and tidy, she leaves some fairy dust, a note, and a small treat. If their room is messy, she leaves a friendly note reminding them she will be back. Now they stay up until their eyelids fall, hoping for a glimpse of the Room Fairy. I have never seen them clean their room so fast as when I remind them that they never know when the Room Fairy might be in our neighborhood. I'm sure our strategy will change as Eliza and Micah get older, but for right now, it's fun. Thanks, Katie!

Great idea! I think I might try it too! Do you have any ideas on how to get rid of monsters, besides the monster spray and just plain old saying there aren't any monsters??

Did you get this idea from when we were kids and I told you about the poo' fairy? I'm going to teach Ellie and Micah about her next time I visit.
