Recently...

One of Ash's high school pals, Andy, came to stay with us on his cross-country drive to CA. He was so sweet--he let the kids swarm him and it was really fun to catch up. Thanks for coming, Andy!

Cartoon characters are annoying, this we know. But I've always wanted to take my kids to ride the train on the Heber Valley Railroad. The "Polar Express" rides at Christmastime are booked so early, so we took the kids up for a day with Thomas the Train. Eliza asked me why Thomas's face wasn't moving and I told her he was paralyzed with excitement to see her. She got a huge grin.

Back door masterpieces.

Micah avoiding his bed at all costs.

Last Saturday, Eliza was booked with a church activity and birthday party, so Micah, Sarah, and I had our own little date to the children's museum. Ash did yard work, poor guy.

Dirty carrot!!!

Of course Micah chose Thai food, it's um..his favorite.

These are Elle and Micah's (now deceased) pets: Tommy the inchworm and his two roly poly friends. The kids pampered them with cilantro, celery, various leaves, art on their cardboard box wall, and a napkin for a bed. Elle is convinced they are still sleeping.

The other day we hit the aquarium with two of Liza's pals. They had a blast touching the sting rays, and watching an octopus pry apart a Mr. Potato Head (I kid you not) to get the food they had stuffed inside. It's supposed to simulate the chase in the wild. I'm not buying it, and I doubt the octopus is either.

Sarah was a trooper with no nap.

Eliza had her preschool graduation Tuesday. She has had a wonderful teacher the past two years, learned a lot, and made some great friends. We're so proud of her! She loves to read and do math with M & Ms at home. Micah is always very willing to help her with the M & M math.

Eliza has a prechool friend who shares her love of animals, foxes in particular. It is pretty humorous to see them play 'foxes' for hours on end. They're always asking for steak.

Fun stuff. I love reading your posts. You guys really know how to have a good time. That picture of you and Sarah is so adorable. And it's true they all did so good that day without their naps...we'll have to do it again soon. It was a fun day.

Here's a challenge for you. Have a post, any post, on any topic, that does not have a picture or your little monsters.

For anyone who is concerned, the previous 2 comments are from my lovely elder brother. He is joking. Roger, I believe the food grinder post only verbally referred to Sarah, so ha!

You catch the cutest moments of your kids on camera! I love them all! Looks like you're having a fun summer so far. How did Micah like Thomas? It's coming out here to CA in July, and we can't decide if we should take Cole or not.

And yes, I was wondering who that Roger character was making those comments! Thanks for the clarification :)

I've always wanted to take Ryan to the Heber train thing, but I have never gotten around to it. You kids have been busy. Sorry we haven't done anything for a while. We have marshmellos that need to be roasted and chocolate that needs to be melted in between some graham crackers. You should join us.
